About the I.T.I.:
Mapusa Govt. I.T.I.functions under the Directorate of Skill Development Department, Panaji-Goa and imparts training in 9Engineering and 3 non-Engineering trades to the candidates aspiring to build their careers in technical field. The course curriculum is as approved by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India in consultation with the National Council for Vocational training (NCVT), New Delhi. For few trades started in recent years, the course curriculum is as approved by the State Council for Vocational training (SCVT),Goa. The list of trades/courses is as shown below:

Short Term Training (STT) and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Courses under PradhanMantriKaushalVikasYojana (PMKVY) Scheme of Govt. of India:
Mapusa Govt. ITI has been the first I.T.I. in the State of Goa to start ‘Hair Stylist’ Short Term Training course/Job Roleunder the Beauty and Wellness Sector Skill Council (SSC) from June 2019 and successfully certify more than 35 candidates till date with the Certificate being issued by the Govt. of India. It has also been the first ITI in the State to start ‘Hair Stylist’ job role under RPL category and certify many trainees who were already working in the Hair Styling/Beauty and Wellness sector since many years but not in possession of a formal valid certificate issued by a recognised Institution.
Mission: To empower the youth with quality skills, ingrain the spirit of true workmanship and create good workmen and self reliant entrepreneurs.
Vision: Start trades suitable to the industrial sector in demand in the State, impart quality skills and nurture the youth into responsible workmen and future entrepreneurs.
Achievements of the Institute:
The performance of the trainees, the dedicated service offered by the staff of the Institute and the overall achievements of the Institute has helped it in making a name for itself in the Bardez and neighbouringtalukas. Parents as well as the youth prefer seeking admission in Mapusa ITI as compared to neighbouring ITIs.
SmtLeenaPorob, G.I., C.O.P.A., MapusaGovt. ITI has been awarded with the Kaushalacharya Award2021 in National C.O.P.A. Category at All India level which is awarded annually to the Best Instructor in the entire country.
She has also been presented the Best Instructor Award at the hands of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa on 15th July 2021 as part of celebration of World Youth Skills Day.
Shri Vilas Shetgaonkar, V.I.,Mapusa Govt. ITI has been awarded as the Best Employee of the year 2021 of D.S.D.E. under Instructor category for Engineering Trades among all ITIs in Goa.
Ms Verona Perpetua Gonsalves, Trainee of A.Y. 2018-20, Electronics Mechanic Trade achieved 1st Rank in Goa at the All India Trade Test for Craftsmen Training Scheme, 2020 and was declared CTS Topper of Goa across all Trades. She was felicitated with a trophy and a certificate on 19th August 2021 at the hands of ShriDipak Desai, Director, Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and ShriHarinathBabu, Regional Director, R.D.S.D.E., Mumbai who had specially flown down to Goa to felicitate her and motivate her in her future endeavours.
SmtDivya (alias Sukanti) DuloGawas, MTS (Peon) participated in the National Masters Athletics Competition held in Imphal, Manipur in the year 2019 under the 45 years and above category and won Gold medal in 4 x 400 mtrs relay, bronze medals in 80 mtrs hurdles competition and in 4 x 100 mtrs relay.
Master VaibhaveAmonkar, Trainee of A.Y. 2016-17, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA) Trade achieved 1st rank at the 54th All India Skills Competition and was declared the Best Craftsman of C.O.P.A. trade in India
The ITI has been continuously upgrading the skills and knowledge of the trainees by taking up various activities related to mainstream academics and extra-curricular activities. During the lockdown period the Instructors of Electronics Mechanic, Fitter, Welder and Turner trades prepared various models of Foot operated sanitizer machines and sensor based hand sanitizer machines along with the trainees to give the trainees a chance to implement the learnings of respective trade in a project.
