History of the Institute
Commencement: Mapusa Government I.T.I. was started in the year 1974.
Location:
Previous: Started in the Technical School building of Education Department in Gaunswada, Peddem which was located in the same plot where present Mapusa Govt. ITI building has been constructed, but in the area adjacent to ITI campus and where the North Goa District Hospital has been constructed after demolishing the Technical School.
Present: Mapusa Govt. ITI was shifted to the existing administrative and workshop block on 25th May 1987.
The Annex block was inaugurated on 15th June 1993 with only the Secretarial Practice trade functioning in it, presently it houses four trades.
Area Details:
The plot area housing the then Technical School building and Mapusa Govt. ITI was divided between the District Hospital and our Department/ Mapusa Govt. ITI. During demolition of the Technical school building, the primary school was shifted to Mapusa ITI premises in the Annex block on the 1st floor. The Technical school was shifted to Moira.
Area allotted to/occupied by Mapusa Govt. ITI: approx. 8292.44 sq. mtrs.
Total covered floor area/built up area: approx. 2405.6 sq. mtrs.
Proposed area for construction/renovation of new set of buildings: 3234 sq. mtrs. (only ground) with the structure being ground + two floors

Classrooms: 9 (Due to closure of certain sections and classrooms for safety reasons and shortage of space, for few trades part of the section has been converted into a classroom)
